Tuesday August 4Th, 2009
Scott Baker (8-7, 4.66) Vs David Huff (5-5, 6.39)
Final Score: Minnesota 10, Cleveland 1
W- Scott Baker (9-7)
L- David Huff (5-6)
Baseballs:
**Carlos Gomez- Carlos was the star of the game. Forget Morneau, Mauer, or Baker, Gomez saved them in more ways than one. At the plate, he went 3-4 with a Home Run, his 3rd of the season and 4 RBIs. But Carlos also made an amazing catch, robbing the Indians early in the game to come back. Carlos is now hitting .240 and he has 26 RBIs.
**Joe Mauer- Joe went 3-5 with 3 doubles and 3 runs scored. Joe drove in his 60Th RBI and he is hitting .359.
**Scott Baker- Scott gave the Twins some great innings, going 7 shutout innings, walking 1 and striking out 4. Scott now has a 4.59 ERA with 9 wins.
**Jason Kubel- Jason started the string with his 19Th Home Run of the season, a solo shot, giving him 59 RBIs. After his 2-5 evening, Jason is hitting .304,
**Orlando Cabrera- The newest Twin went 2-5 at the plate with 2 doubles and drove in a run, his 44Th RBI of the season. Orlando is now hitting .283.
**Justin Morneau- Justin had 2 hits, drove in his 88Th run of the season. Justin is hitting .309.
**Delmon Young- Delmon went 2-5 and scored 2 runs. He is hitting .261.
**Jessie Crain- Threw a scoreless 8Th inning, striking out 1. Crain now has a 7.20 ERA.

2-4, 1 RBI, 1 2B
**Travis Hafner- Pronk went 2-4 with a double and drove in his 29Th run of the season. Travis is hitting .279.
**Jhonny Peralta- Jhonny went 2-4 at the plate and scored the only run. He is now hitting .277 on the season.

1-2, 1 BB
**Andy Marte- Andy went 1-2 with a walk, he was on base twice. Andy is hitting .286 on the season.
**Tony Sipp- Tony threw a scoreless 7Th inning, he struck out 1 and now has a 5.09 ERA.
**Chris Perez- Chris threw a scoreless 8Th inning, striking out 1 and he now has a 4.37 ERA.
Goofballs:
**David Huff- David pitches like a rookie, he is up and he is down, but tonight, he was awful. He threw 4 2/3 innings, giving up 7 runs (7 earned), he walked 1 and struck out 4. David raised his ERA to 6.81. I am still a fan of his, but he has to pitch better down the stretch and be more consistent.
**Jensen Lewis- Has this been a wasted year for Jensen or what? 1 1/3 innings, giving up 2 runs (2 earned), he didn’t walk anyone or struck out anyone and he now has a 5.18 ERA.
**Tomo Ohka- Tomo threw an inning, giving up 1 run (1 earned), he now has a 5.36 ERA.
**Indians Offense- I have no idea how a team can just sit there and watch the starting pitcher dominate you like that when they face him so many times on any given season. They have the books on Scott Baker, they should know what he throws and expect it. The Twins certainly knew what David Huff was throwing. I guess we can blame this on the coaching staff? Who knows, 1 run on 5 hits isn’t going to cut it, no matter how young your offense is.
Indians record after 106 games in 2009: 44-62
Indians record after 106 games in 2008: 46-60
Indians record in one run games in 2009: 15-14

On Deck:
I hate games like this, after the Indians win 11-1 against the best team in the division. It doesn’t make sense how the same team can play so well one game, then the very next game, they play so, very bad. The Indians got rid of Jose Veras after the game and said hello to Jess Todd. So another day, we won’t have Matt Laporta. We need him to see what he can do so he has every way possible to claim that everyday LF job next season. But what do I know? I am just a fan. Another game starts tomorrow at 7:05 PM, airing on STO, with Indians On Deck at 6:30 PM. Francisco Liriano (4-10, 5.56) takes the mound for the Twins. He will be opposed by Aaron Laffey (4-3, 4.08). The game will air on WTAM 1100-AM, so let’s at least play better and stay close with this game. Go Tribe.
